Artwork

If you have placed an order with us, we now need your artwork in print-ready PDF format including crop marks.

The quickest and most effective way of supplying this is via our site's upload facility. PLEASE NOTE before uploading, check out the information below. If you do not have 'print ready' artwork and want us to prepare it for you, tick the design section in Artwork Options when placing your order. Our competitively priced design service costs as little as Ā£30.

Preparing Artwork

If you do not yet have your own artwork designed, we can prepare it for you. Please contact us for more information and to discuss your requirements.

If you already have artwork prepared, please send it for printing in Adobe Acrobat (PDF format) with fonts embedded at a resolution of 300 dpi or greater. Photos should be sent as JPEG files with a resolution of 300 dpi to ensure printed quality is good.

PLEASE remember to check your artwork carefully before sending it to us. If errors such as typing mistakes are made by you, you will have to also pay for the reprinting.

Artwork Layout

Most of our products follow standard 'A' paper sizes. Please supply everything in a 'one up' basis. i.e. provide one business card set up as 85mm x 55mm size or one A4 leaflet set up as 210mm x 297mm. Note other common sizes:

A6 - 105mm x 148mm
A5 - 148mm x 210mm
A3 - 297mm x 420mm
A2 - 420mm x 594mm
A1 - 594mm x 841mm
A0 - 841mm x 1189mm

Bleed

Images, background colours and fills which are intended to extend to the edge of the page should be extended 3mm beyond the page to give a bleed. Text, boxes and other areas you need on your finished job should sit 5mm in from the edges of the page.

Photos

For best results we need pictures to be supplied at a minimum of 300dpi and saved in CMYK colour. Most images found on the Internet are poor quality (72dpi) and whilst we could print from them, the results would be very poor.

Colour

The printed material we send you will NOT exactly match the colours you obtain in a proof from your printer or you see on your PC screen because all printers print differently. The only way to ensure an exact match is to arrange spot colour printing, quoting the PantoneĀ® Colour to us. If you use screen colours as a guide, ensure that your monitor is correctly calibrated.

Spot colour printing is a method that uses a different ink for each colour. By using a single ink for each colour it is possible to achieve exceptionally good matching to either existing printing, or to colours from the Pantone spot colour swatches. If your printing only requires one, two or three colours, spot colour printing may be cheaper than full colour printing. Alternatively, spot colours can be used if a colour needs to be extremely precise. For example, if you need to reproduce a very specific colour for a corporate logo or to match an existing piece of printing, spot colours should be used.

Full colour printing uses four inks mixed in different quantities to produce multicolour images. The colour of these four inks are cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Colour produced using these inks is referred to as process colour, CMYK or full colour printing. Almost any colour can be produced by mixing these four inks.

Fonts

Please make sure the fonts are embedded in your artwork before sending it to us.

Delivery

You can order through this website, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, our telephone lines are open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5:30 pm UK time (Closed on all UK Bank Holidays).

Once you have placed your order, you will receive an email confirmation of receipt. Indicative delivery times are indicated in the product information areas. We aim to supply most items direct to your office or home within six working days.

Payment

In order to keep our costs down and our prices low, we require payment in advance.

Refund Policy

When a customer is less than delighted with the finished work we arrange, we want to know. Any complaint, we receive is investigated straight away.

Where the problem is clearly something that can be attributed to us, we will immediately arrange for the job to be redone or the product bought, replaced. In the event that re-printing or re-ordering is not an option, we will instead recover the defective work /product and credit you in full.

Where the cause of the problem cannot solely be attributed to us, we will seek to find a compromise remedy with you, either crediting in part or re-printing at a reduced cost.

Where the problem can be fully attributed to the customer, Printing Matters shall not accept liability in any part. In the unlikely event that a satisfactory resolution can not be found between us and the customer, we will accept the resolution recommended by a third party Arbiter. The Arbiter being an independent third person accepted by both parties.

When I try to click through to your prices, a page appears saying "the page cannot be displayed" How can I rectify this?

Your internet browser is not allowing our cookie and without this, you will not be able to see our prices. Therefore please change your internet settings. To do this, go to the Start menu on your PC. Then go to Settings - Control Panel - Internet Options - Privacy. Under Settings, click 'Sites' and 'allow' our site.
